Position: Part-time appointment in the Game Design Program at the Maryland Institute College of Art (Game/Play) Job Description: This faculty position will teach a section of Game/Play during the Spring ‘22 semester. This is an introductory course about game culture, theory, design and development. Students will play, make and analyze games in order to build a common and more extensive vocabulary to discuss and understand the form. Principles from traditional board games, sports games, and party games will be analyzed and this analysis will then be applied to designing two paper-based games over the course of the semester. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field Experience with player-centric, iterative Game Design practices Prior games-related experience including college-level teaching, workshop leading, or tutorial production is preferred Candidate must successfully complete a full background check Conditions of Employment: Satisfactory Background Check Additional Information: Salary: Commensurate with experience and college policy.
