Description:Using the Quality Caring Model, the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN demonstrates expertise in the performance and application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
Job Title: Float Pool Nurse – PACU
Employment Type: Part-Time / Hours and Shifts Flexible
Location: Germantown, MD
Description:
  • Using the Quality Caring Model, the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN demonstrates expertise in the performance and application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
  • Must have availability to work 60-84 hours in a 6-week schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitors surgical patients’ condition through post anesthesia recovery period utilizing regular contact and assessment.
  • Educate patients and family
  • Plan continuum of care
Required:What you will need
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred. Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in a PACU setting.
Preferred:
  • BSN or MSN preferred
