Marymount School of New York is Hiring a Certified Athletic Trainer (Part-time, August-June) Near New York, NY

  • Salary: 50,000-60,000 annually

Description

Marymount School is seeking a part-time, 10-month, certified athletic trainer beginning August 2024. An ideal candidate will build strong professional relationships with student-athletes, families, and colleagues, and promote a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative environment for athletes. They must also possess a strong understanding of skill and strategy in their area of specialization, excellent organizational and communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Hours are Monday - Friday, 1:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Responsibilities include:

  • Practice and game coverage for Upper and/or Upper Middle School

  • Injury evaluation, management, treatment, and possible communication/notification to parents/guardians of all athletic injuries that occur during athletic practices/competitions, including concussion management
  • Oversee and coordinate injury rehabilitation and injury prevention programs
  • Attend all required school meetings and events
  • Assist with record keeping and management of coaches’ CPR/First Aid and Concussion protocols
  • Build relationships and communicate with all stakeholders involved in the athletic program (student-athletes, coaches, parents, Athletics staff, Nursing Staff, administration, faculty, and physicians)
  • Uphold the highest professional standards and ethical behavior, adhering to Marymount's mission, AAIS league guidelines, NYSAIS regulations, and AT BOC standards
  • Maintain adequate medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures using Magnus (EMR) and communicate injuries to Head Athletic Trainer
  • Perform other duties/tasks as needed and assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
  • Must be BOC certified and licensed in New York State
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Candidates must be CPR/AED certified and complete all necessary school paperwork

Salary range: $50,000-60,000 annually
