Maryville University of Saint Louis is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near St Louis, MO

Posting DetailsJob Summary/Basic FunctionThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for working with the Executive Director of Human Resources to assist the organization in achieving its business objectives. The position builds and maintains strong relationships across the organization at all levels to deliver value-added contributions. The position will also play a critical role in HR strategic initiatives including, but not limited to, organizational design, change management, retention, engagement, professional development, talent management, performance management, HR communications, and employee relations.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Creates, supports, and delivers professional development opportunities for faculty and staff which may include, and not limited to, cross training, individual career paths, and coordinating mentoring relationships.
  • Consults with leaders on various departmental restructuring, talent strategies, related timelines, and change management initiatives.
  • Facilitates talent management discussions with leaders in terms of succession planning and career development.
  • Creates regular HR communication in support of HR topics, initiatives, and wellness.
  • Provides coaching and counseling on employee relations matters for both managers and employees.
  • Engages in broader HR functions including projects such as those related to compensation management, engagement surveys, budget management, recognition, and performance management.
  • Supports various tasks for the HR function including process improvements, policy creation/updates, and compliance related matters.
  • Execute various diversity and inclusion initiatives including related metrics.
Minimum QualificationsKnowledge of technology including Microsoft Office Suite.
Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of key principles and practices of Human Resources
Exemplary customer service skills.
Stakeholder management.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret data.
Active listening skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Highly motivated, focused and results oriented.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other stake holders at all levels.
Ability to learn new programs and applications.
Two years of human resources experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
SHRM-CP or SCP certification preferred.
