RN- First Assist: This 0.0FTE/Per-diem position is scheduled to work 8 HR variable shifts as needed. Compensation: Exempt, $46.92/HR-$67.03/HR Benefits: Mason Health provides these benefits for per-diem employees: Mental Health # Wellness resources Employee Assistance Program Job Summary: The RN#First Assist prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and health care team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice. # Job Specific Duties # Responsibilities: Demonstrates accountability for professional nursing practice, commitment to patient care and commitment to uphold the Patient Bill of Rights. Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing. Skilled in performing nursing assessment, knowledgeable of age specific growth and development needs. Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience. #Able to administer medications to assist surgeon. Provide surgical site exposure for surgeon. Handling /cutting tissue/closing incisions. Able to provide proper suturing techniques to close incision. Able to effectively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Able to provide wound management along with hemostasis. Able to create, model and sustain a positive environment, effective collaboration, counseling, conflict resolution skills. Able to communicate clinical / educational knowledge (i.e., students, patients, and families) # Required Education and Experience: Associate degree in nursing required, Bachelor#s Degree in nursing preferred. Graduate from an approved First Assist program One year of acute care nursing experience required. One year of first assisting experience required. # Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Current RN license in the state of Washington. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire. RN First Assist, Certified (CRNFA) # Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required within 90 days. (CNOR) - CCI Competency and Credentialing Institute required Additional Unit-Specific Certification Requirements: Surgery: ############### Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 180 days of hire.
