The OpportunityThe Project Manager will report to the Manager, Project Management and will work independently under the guidance of leadership in Mass General Revenue Cycle Operations on multiple projects. The Project Manager will act as a liaison between all RCO departments, Digital Health, Hospital Departments, IS, vendors, and any project sponsors.
The incumbent will stand in for Sponsors and Directors as necessary and can lead projects independently.Responsibilities include: project coordination; system evaluation; development and documentation of project plans, requirements and specifications, timelines, status, and special projects.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Use/s the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors.   • Works with Project Sponsors to identify objectives, scope, stakeholders, and goals
  • Prepares project charter and obtains “buy-in” from all stakeholders.
  • Designs and maintains accurate records and databases.
  • Facilitates the development of project timeline, defines deliverables and landmarks, and sets priorities.
  • Provides analytic support to and/or coordinates progress of assigned projects.
  • Identifies required project resources.
  • Defines project roles and responsibilities.
  • Establishes communication framework and plan for the duration of the project. Determines meeting types, frequencies, and participants.
  • Develops and maintains project documentation including, but not limited to: Project Plan, Meeting Agendas, Meeting Minutes, and Decision Documents.
  • Documents business requirements and functional specifications for assigned projects.
  • Participates in the development of project plans and timelines.
  • Manages project timeline and deliverables as defined by Project Scope.
  • Provides status updates to Project Sponsors and Senior Management on a regular basis.
  • Leads project communication process to collaborators and business community, when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and summarizes for management review and decision making. Translates data into meaningful, useful information for senior leadership
  • Performs project-related analytical work as needed.
  • Owns accountability for meeting project objectives within the prescribed budget
  • Monitors internal and external factors throughout project plan. Evaluates impact of risks or changes on project plan.
  • Analyzes risks and develops recommendations for mitigation of risks.
  • Alerts Sponsors and Senior Management of any risks jeopardizing the execution of the project.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
  • Master’s Degree preferred; BS Degree required
  • 5 years’ experience in project management in healthcare
  • Working knowledge of hospital revenue cycle and associated systems
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating and team building skills. Ability to get work done through others, even if there is no direct reporting relationship.
  • Take-charge ability and excellent judgment in determining and leveraging resources.4 Experience in development of project plans and timelines
  • Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy
  • Ability to work within a complex multi-site environment
  • Strong proactive customer service skills
  • Strong PC skills / Microsoft applications, including Access, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Requires minimal supervision from leadership and possesses the ability to learn quickly
