General OverviewThe Population Health Management (PHM) department is charged with driving improved value for patients across Mass General Brigham. PHM leverages financial and clinical data to examine opportunities and design and deliver innovative care models. We value problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills to drive ongoing care delivery improvement for our patients.
The Senior Project Manager on the Finance team will lead efforts to support our Internal Performance Framework (IPF). The IPF is the financial risk-sharing framework between MGB and the integrated and affiliated care delivery entities and ambulatory practices. Each year the IPF is developed with a slate of measures for quality, cost and strategy performance to improve value for our patients. This person will be responsible for managing the information, communication and progress of the IPF lifecycle, from measure development to implementation and settlement. This position reports to the Director of Value Based Care Performance and works closely with the PHM Head of Finance and the PHM Network team.
Principal Duties And ResponsibilitiesLeads Management of the IPF Lifecycle
At any point in time, the IPF will span 3 years – the prior performance year (focused on final measurement and financial settlement), the current performance year (focused on performance evaluation and management) and the future performance year (focused on measure adjustment to meet evolving payor contract requirements and system strategy).
There are many stakeholders involved in the development and usage of the IPF including the PHM Finance, Analytics, Network, and Clinical Operations teams, MGB affiliated physician practices, MGB integrated physician groups and MGB integrated and affiliated entities.
  • This role will be responsible for driving the work forward to create a collaborative, coordinated and timely IPF development and execution.
  • Develops and manages project plans.
  • Participates in IPF review and discussion with multiple stakeholders. Creates presentations and leads discussion and review of project plans. Creates and distributes meeting notes.
  • Tracks open items and next steps and proactively works to ensure others complete assigned tasks
  • Identifies, resolves, and escalates issues as needed.
  • Provides on-going status reports to management, workgroups and executive leadership
Foster collaborative relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Develops effective relationships within PHM, and with clinical and administrative leaders across the MBG entities
  • Collaborates with administrative and clinical leaders and other key stakeholders to support population health management programs and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Presents updates, reports, recommendations, data, and analysis to various central and local audiences.
Other Duties as Assigned
The Finance team is responsible for evaluating and fostering performance improvement for our risk-based lives in our Medicare ACO, MassHealth ACO, and Commercial contracts. The Senior Project Manager will be assigned other project duties to support the work of the PHM Finance team leadership.

QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
  • 7 years’ experience in project management, preferably within a healthcare environment
  • Strong organizational and project management/operations responsibilities experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
Preferred
  • Familiarity with measurement/metrics to drive performance in Value Based Contracts and experience with engaging and guiding providers in understanding performance data.
  • Experience in process improvement activities preferred
  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
