Job Description
The Human Resources Division is pleased to offer an exciting career opportunity to a highly motivated, organized and talented human resources professional within its HR Operations Unit. As a leader in this fast paced and growing unit, the Director of HR/Payroll oversees and manages HR administrative functions, processes, and procedures for the Office of the Governor (GOV), the Executive Office for Administration and Finance (ANF), the Human Resources Division (HRD), as well as a number of other Executive Department agencies. Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day employee needs specific to position management; job postings; background checks; onboarding and offboarding; benefits administration; time and attendance; performance management; maintaining personnel files; and compliance. The Director of HR/Payroll works closely with the members of the HR Operations Unit to coordinate the appropriate resources for critical HR deliverables such as recruitment, retention, compensation, leave management, and workplace accommodations. We're seeking a candidate who not only understands the Commonwealth’s HR practices inside and out but can also effectively communicate this expertise when needed. As a subject matter expert in HR, you'll be relied upon to provide insights, guidance, and solutions to various partners.

Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
