Massey, Stotser & Nichols, PC is Hiring a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to Senior Level Attorney Near Birmingham, AL

Job DescriptionThe law firm of Massey, Stotser & Nichols, PC is looking to hire an organized and detail-oriented legal assistant or paralegal with a strong work ethic to assist a senior level attorney. This position is client facing and serves as a critical piece in communicating with various clients and keeping the attorney informed of all client interactions and questions. The person hired for this position will work closely with other attorneys and staff members to complete the following tasks or responsibilities:
  • Case file management and maintenance
  • Draft, review, revise, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and agreements
  • Schedule and calendar meetings
  • Electronic filings with administrative, municipal, state, and federal courts
  • Data entry of receipts, expenses, and billable hours
  • Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Paralegal experience with a general understanding of Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure
  • General knowledge of corporate work
  • Degree in a related field or a paralegal certificate (In lieu of a degree or paralegal certificate, a high school diploma will be considered with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.)
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work with others to manage work flow
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and other time constraints
