Master Power Transmission is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist Near Columbus, IN

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Engineer Specialist develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing projects, processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Maintains training of machinists in area of responsibility. Along with being accountable for the development and implementation of shop floor training strategies, plans, and processes to meet and supports organizational goals.

Essential Functions

· Ability to improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.

· Able to assist management in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.

· Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

· Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.

· Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.

· Design, develop, and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

· Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

· Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams.

· Inspect and test the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency.

· Maintain manufacturing process routings that include information such as the specification of machines, fixtures, tools, speeds, feeds, and gages to be used.

· Ability to determine, establish, and maintain standards of production.

Competencies and Key Attributes

· Ability to understand and learn all aspects of machine process and machine operation in area of

responsibility. Then train individuals on machines and processes.

· Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production

equipment. Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

· Problem analysis and problem resolution.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

· Planning: the ability to think ahead and plan over a 3–6-month time span.

· Extensive knowledge of the company’s preferred software.

· Make decisions based on designs.

· Ensures quality product through interaction analysis with assemblers, machinist, and other managers.

· Problem solving mind set and the ability to collaborate with others.

· Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technology, or related field or 5 years’ experience.

· CAD/CAM proficiency and experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience in automation projects (programing, implementation, and process development).

· Experience implementing and planning capital improvement projects.
