Job DescriptionThe Director, Human Resources reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for developing and executing the HR strategy in support of the business objectives including providing expertise and guidance in the areas of culture, change management, coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational design. This person is a trusted partner, subject matter expert, and resource to the leadership team and requires the ability to think strategically while maintaining a results-driven approach. This person effectively balances the high-level strategic work with the day-to-day operational excellence, improving processes to meaningfully impact the business and the employee experience.

YOUR ROLE:
  • Develop and implement the HR strategy for the Commercial organization. Analyze trends and key metrics, developing proactive actions to support the business and overall HR strategy. Develops in-depth knowledge of all MasterBrand strategic business units. Leverages ideas from others to provide value-added recommendations and best practices to others.
  • Coach and collaborate with leadership, build a partnership with the business, and elevate HR as a thought leader. Works closely with leaders to acquire, evaluate, develop and retain talent aligned with the talent strategy and MasterBrand experience. Assess succession strengths and gaps, identify capability needs, and partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition on strategies to improve succession readiness. Develop and implement a strategy to build pipeline of talent to drive long term growth and results.
  • Champion the employee experience with the goal of making MasterBrand a best place to work. Develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies. Use engagement survey results to evaluate and drive initiatives that lead to a positive employee experience. Coach leaders on the effective use of survey results in action planning with their teams.
  • Partner with HR leadership team to support the implementation of HR strategic initiatives and processes, such as talent planning, performance management, compensation planning etc.
  • Consistently demonstrates the MasterBrand Way, positioning the company for growth and helping identify opportunities to reduce waste, complexity, and improve our work environment. Demonstrates teamwork by responsively collaborating with the management and staff, sharing information and ideas, proactively seeking, and accepting constructive feedback, and accepting additional assignments when appropriate. Identifies self-development needs and seeks opportunities to work on areas that will further develop skills.
  • Participates in company efforts related to ethics and compliance activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Human Resources with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • A track record of business partnership with senior leadership
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated business acumen and using data to drive problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in managing change
  • Ability to travel 30% (1-2 trips per month)
