What are the responsibilities and job description for the Settlement Services Specialist position at Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union?
FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for member marketing of the Credit Union and to maintain knowledge of all services offered in order to support the Credit Union’s Vision and Core Values.
- Responsible for providing support for member service directed telephone inquiries.
- Responsible for Contact Event Management to include travel notes.
- Responsible for daily reconciliation and completion of E-Commerce Department settlement related journal vouchers.
- Responsible for processing daily ACH electronic debit and credit functions.
- Responsible for HSA and IRA administration.
- Complete daily activity on Visa debit and credit card functions, which may include but not be limited to, ordering new and replacement cards, processing file maintenance requests, processing limit increases/decreases and working the XX Daily reissue list.
- Responsible for ATM and ITM balancing, reporting and cash management.
- Responsible for maintaining familiarity, compliance and proficiency with all policies and procedures, as well as regulations and association/vendor rules pertinent to job responsibilities.
- Actively contribute to the success of the Credit Union by working positively within the community, department and with co-workers.
- Cross train and perform the duties of other E-Commerce staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES FOR THE POSITION
- Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: Two years’ experience in the financial services industry with an emphasis on member service and accounting required. Data entry and ten key by touch experience highly desirable.Prior experience with MVFCU may be considered in lieu of a portion of the above experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of computer software including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word,Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows required.Experience with Symitar or similar Core processing system desired. AAP certification required within 30 months of assuming the position.
- Personal Characteristics and Skills: Must be of the highest integrity and with personal habits above reproach. Must practice confidentiality. Must be a mature person with sound judgment. Must have the ability to meet and work effectively with people of varying levels of education and experience and be able to communicate, both written and orally with same. Must have a high degree of self-motivation, be detail oriented and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and making sound decisions.Must be able to take directions and seek the council of supervisor as necessary.
- Working Conditions: Continuous alertness, precision, and concentration to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of documents and transactions. Occasional travel is required. This position may require extended or irregular hours. Continuous standing and/or sitting for long periods of time when performing other duties related to the position. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
