Job Title: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Weight Loss Program Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with

previous experience to head our weight loss program team. The ideal candidate will be

a self-starter, hard worker, and eager to contribute to the growth and success of our

practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the

lives of our patients while playing a key role in the expansion of our weight loss

program.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients interested in weight loss programs,

including medical history, physical examinations, and laboratory tests.

2. Develop personalized weight loss plans tailored to each patient's needs, goals, and

medical conditions.

3. Provide ongoing monitoring and support to patients throughout their weight loss

journey, including regular follow-up appointments, counseling, and adjustments to

treatment plans as needed.

4. Educate patients about the health risks associated with obesity, the benefits of weight

loss, and strategies for long-term weight management.

5. Collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed.

6. Participate in marketing and promotional activities to attract new patients to the

weight loss program, such as community events, educational seminars, and outreach

initiatives.

7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters, treatment

plans, and progress notes in electronic medical records (EMR) system.

8. Stay informed about the latest developments in weight management research,

guidelines, and technologies, and incorporate best practices into clinical practice.

9. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development by pursuing

continuing education opportunities, certifications, and advanced training in obesity

medicine or related fields.

10. Contribute to the overall success and growth of the weight loss program by actively

participating in quality improvement initiatives, program evaluation, and strategic

planning.

Qualifications:

1. Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from an

accredited program.

2. Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state

of New York with ability to prescribe medications.

3. Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in a

relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Adult Health, Obesity Medicine).

4. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, internal medicine, or a

related field, with a focus on weight management, obesity, or metabolic disorders

preferred.

5. Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in conducting physical examinations,

interpreting laboratory results, and prescribing medications for weight loss.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport

with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced,

multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

8. Proven track record of success in building and maintaining a patient caseload,

achieving clinical outcomes, and contributing to practice growth and development.

9. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software

applications.

10. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and providing compassionate, patient-

centered care.
