Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join our Research Operations team, supporting assay execution, compound management, and lab automation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong scientific background and a positive attitude for learning and facilitating research. This position will focus on assay development, troubleshooting, and routine execution of in-vitro biochemical and cellular assays to support drug discovery programs. The candidate will also support activities in compound management involving preparing compound stocks, compound quality control, and operating automation tools like Hamilton Verso, Beckman Echo-Access platform, and other liquid handlers. The suitable candidate will have a successful track record of working cross-functionally as a member of drug discovery teams, as well as through a matrix organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills are preferable, as is the desire and ability to work in a multidisciplinary, fast paced, and science-focused environment. Key Responsibilities
Perform biochemical and cellular studies of drug potency
Analyze and interpret quantitative data
Effectively conduct and organize activities, and communicate results through oral and written presentations
Read and apply relevant scientific literature
Operate lab automation tools including liquid handlers and automated pipettes to support compound management activities and increase assay throughput
Assay development and transfer to internal and external teams for screening and compound characterization
Participate in compound management activities including, but not limited to, compound receipt, inventory management, cherry-picking, solvating, plating, etc.
Clear written and verbal communication of results to project teams and research leadership
Contribute to scientific discussions within project teams
Timely maintenance of an accurate electronic notebook with data interpretation
Qualifications
BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline with 3 years of relevant lab experience
Experience with biochemical or cellular assays is required
Hands on experience with lab automation systems
Familiarity working with software systems, spreadsheets, and working with large data sets
Exposure to spreadsheets and curve-fitting programs is preferred
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, curious of the science, and desiring to learn novel in vitro assay techniques
Candidate must be highly collaborative and thrive in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment
