We are looking to add an energetic, team-oriented Medical Assistants to our Salisbury location. Responsibilities are broad, ranging from greeting patients, scheduling appointments, confirming insurance eligibility, answering heavy phone volume, taking patient payments and more traditional MA duties, such as vitals, urine collection, pre-appointment interviewing and pre-charting.
Responsibilities & Functions:
Medical Assistants have 2 primary functions: administrative and clinical. Responsibilities of Medical Assistants include (but are not limited to):
- Administrative:
- At the front desk, greet patients, and help with the completion of patient forms
- Update patient demographics
- Verification of insurance eligibility
- Collection of patient copays, balances, or other fees
- Scan IDs, insurance cards, and other documents into EHR
- Provide positive customer service when speaking to patients and outside entities
- Assist in the Call Center by answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Complete confirmation calls for the following patient day
- Ensure all required patient documents are in their chart
- Maintain a clean work environment at the front desk and in the waiting room
- Ability to regularly travel to all office locations and work both evenings and weekends
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned
- Clinical:
- Prepare patient charts for the provider before the patient day
- Triage patients and update patient history in the EHR
- Collect and order lab specimens according to provider orders
- Provide patient education according to provider direction
- Maintain supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean work environment in the triage, lab, and provider rooms
- Ability to regularly travel to all office locations and work both evenings and weekends
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned
- This position requires the access, use, and disclosure of company protected health information.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting is preferred
- Organization, detail-oriented, basic computer skills, high level of communication skills both written and oral are required
- High level of customer service and compassion is required
- Every Saturday and evening shifts (12pm-8pm) are required
