About the Role

As a Lead Full Stack Web & Mobile Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in both hands-on development and overseeing a remote team of engineers primarily based in Eastern Europe. You will work closely with Product Managers to scope new projects, assess technical integrations, and determine the most relevant tech stacks and languages. Your responsibilities will include coding backend, frontend, mobile, and LLM-integrations, as well as performing light DevOps tasks. You will be adept at leading multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring clarity on technical questions, and relieving blockers. Your strong understanding of architecture and performance, combined with excellent communication skills, will be essential in aligning with company goals and client expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to a multicultural, remote engineering team based primarily in Eastern Europe, ensuring efficient and effective collaboration.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering questions and blockers, relieving the CEO of constant responsibilities in this area.
  • Conduct code reviews and review pull requests to maintain high code quality.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to scope new projects, assess technical integrations, and determine the most relevant tech stacks and languages.
  • Build scalable, performant applications for our clients across multiple industries and verticals.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration within the team, fostering a culture of open communication.
  • Contribute to the technical architecture and hands-on coding, maintaining an intimate understanding of the technologies and methodologies in use.
  • Interface with the CEO and other stakeholders, presenting clear and concise updates on engineering progress and its contribution to company success.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript (Node, React, Next.js).
  • Expert knowledge of building cross platform mobile applications using React Native.
  • Strong knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with AI technologies, including LLMs, embeddings, and fine-tuning.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or DigitalOcean.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with caching services like Memcache or Redis.
  • Proficiency in web frameworks such as Laravel, Django, or NestJS.
  • Experience building and working with APIs (GraphQL and RESTful services).
  • Strong scripting skills.
  • Experience with TDD workflows and unit testing.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS in computer science, information technology, business / management information systems or related fields or 6 years professional experience in software engineering, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to ensure alignment across technology, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in agile development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate well with team members.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills.
