Matern Staffing is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Stafford, VA

Matern Staffing is hiring an HR Generalist for a food manufacturing plant in Stafford, VA. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the areas of talent acquisition, benefits administration, payroll, company culture, and operations.

As an HR Generalist, you’ll combine your excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, organize, and manage sensitive information. You’ll be someone the applicants, employees, and management teams trust to support their growth while supporting organizational success.

  • Medical/Dental/Vision after 30 days of service
  • After 12 months of service, 10% company match 401K, vested right away

Schedule: 8:30am-5pm

What You’ll Do:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • Prepares, coordinates, and processes employee changes and HR-related documents such as offer letters, contracts, and policies
  • Identifies and coordinates trainings and activities to enhance employee skills, knowledge and growth
  • Maintains accurate hiring, incentive, professional development, education, and leave records for all employees
  • Participates in the development and execution the performance appraisal process by providing guidance to managers and employees, setting performance goals, and facilitating performance reviews and plans
  • Proactively maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 5 years' experience in HR and a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or a related field.
  • Positive self-starter with a proactive approach, excellent time management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Active listener who collaborates effectively with teammates, always ready to step in to help
  • Strong computer skills, including HRIS and MS Office applications, for creating and analyzing reports and documents
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Bilingual capabilities in English/Japanese or English/Spanish preferred
