Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 Annually. Salary will be dependent upon experience.

Job Summary:

The Interior Design Professional at Matrix Design Group is responsible for providing consulting support within the Government Consulting Services Center of Excellence with a strong focus on interior space planning and design concept development. This role involves developing methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, researching, and writing reports primarily for the Department of Defense. Additionally, the associate will engage in various other tasks as assigned, ensuring innovative and functional design solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop innovative design concepts that align with project goals and client expectations, ensuring aesthetic and functional excellence.
  • Perform interior space planning to optimize the use of space according to client needs and industry standards.
  • Research assigned areas or issues and write comprehensive reports summarizing information or advocating for specific objectives.
  • Execute project tasks, including report preparation, technical document development, presentations, and contributing to other project deliverables.
  • Meet with clients and representatives to present design concepts, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Plan, organize, and lead virtual and in-person engagements with stakeholders
  • Contribute to proposal development by providing content for the approach, schedule, or other sections as needed.

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Autodesk Revit, and Photoshop.
  • Gather input from stakeholders to incorporate their perspectives and knowledge into design concepts and recommendations.
  • Collect and organize information from various sources such as databases, scanned documents, surveys, and customer feedback.
  • Write memos and reports and develop presentations to explain design concepts, findings, and recommendations to managers, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and other facilities as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of work-related experience.
  • Preferred experience working with or for the Department of Defense.
  • Valid driver's license and successfully passing the Company’s MVR screening.
