Matrix NAC is Hiring a Planner-Scheduler Near Pittsburgh, PA
The Planner/Scheduler will primarily be responsible for performing non-routine scheduling assignments, which require the selection and application of resource monitoring principles, techniques and technical knowledge of a project.
Essential Functions
- Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values.

- Perform tasks required to develop and maintain schedules for large capital projects, including the integration of multiple logic-tied EPC schedules.
- Develops detailed schedules with management and construction team. May collect data from a variety of sources including A/E, client, other contractors, etc.
- Interfaces with other departments to provide scheduling data for items such as subcontract change requests, new work item estimates and resolution of potential work schedule problems.
- May provide direction and on-the-job training to clerical and entry-level professional personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
- Works closely with others to ensure proper .
- Communicates with managers, superintendents, and field staff on day-to-day changes.
- Performs job reviews comparing estimates and planned jobs to actual.
- Acts as a backup to the Scheduling Coordinator, entering jobs as they are received from Engineering, the Regions or Outside Fabrication Divisions. Works closely with Project Managers to ensure jobs are entered properly and timely.
- Provides backup support for job costing work, providing a detailed invoice for hard dollar jobs, time and material jobs, and seals for inside jobs.
- Performs other related responsibilities, as directed. Assists with special projects that may arise.
- 5 years of industrial scheduling experience; previous substation, transmission/distribution, and gas/power plant experience preferred
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project a plus.
- Working knowledge of and ability to select and apply resource monitoring and control techniques, such as scheduling, computer scheduling techniques, etc.
- Thorough understanding of process systems, structures, equipment, etc., required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects, work on multiple projects and work with multiple deadlines.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read drawings/blueprints.
