Job Description: Responsibilities:
- Architecting Solutions: Design and develop high-performance Scala applications using functional programming principles.
- Integration and APIs: Integrate Scala solutions with other platforms and develop APIs for data/service integration.
- Performance Optimization: Use Scala frameworks like Spark to optimize application performance.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest Scala libraries and tools.
- 10 Years of Scala Development and Architectural Design
- Education: Candidates with relevant degrees, such as Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Selecting and integrating any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities. Implementing ETL processes (if importing data from existing data sources).
- Monitoring performance and advising any necessary infrastructure changes.
- Defining data retention policies.
- Integrating solutions with the company’s existing architecture:
- Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles.
- Management of Hadoop clusters (with all included services).
- Ability to solve any ongoing issues with operating the cluster.
- Proficiency with Hadoop v2, MapReduce, and HDFS.
- Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm or Spark-Streaming (if stream-processing is relevant for the role).
- Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala
