About the Role The
Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on the management of the warehouse personnel and the implementation of warehouse action plans. Also responsible for the tracking and recording of equipment hours, assurance that equipment maintenance schedules are followed, and employee meetings are conducted.
What you'll do: - Operations - provide direct supervision to warehouse personnel. Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet service standards. Assist in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness. Develop and implement shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operations. Make recommendations to the Facility Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations. Act as the primary re-trainer of Forklift operations.
- Labor Management - direct the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve objectives. Develop and maintain a productive staff by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development. Match the skill and background of personnel to work required. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques. Create programs to supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates. Implement an appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases and termination.
- Equipment - develop and implement a daily plan for allocating equipment to jobs. Ensure that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner. Coordinate the maintenance of equipment with Maintenance Manager.
- Customer Service - continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and ensure that all personnel do the same.
- Shipping and Receiving - directly supervise all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
- Comply with all Company rules, policies, and procedures. Work and behave safely by following all safety rules and regulations.

And these qualifications: - Five (5) or more years of related Warehousing & Distribution leadership experience and/or training. This related experience may be substituted for degree; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven track record of leadership, growth, and innovation in Warehousing & Distribution.
- Position will travel as necessary to various Matson Logistics locations, clients, carriers, etc.
The annual salary for this position in California is $65,000.
