The Rate Specialist ’s primary job duties are to quote incoming rate requests, rate, and audit freight bills in an efficient, productive, and professional manner. What you’ll do: Provide rate quotes (internally and externally). Audit completed bills for accuracy. Analyze land costs. Assist customers (over phone and via computer) regarding pricing in a polite and professional manner. Provide written rate sheets to other departments and eternal customers as needed. Maintain and distribute Tariffs with current and accurate information as requested. Other Customer Service responsibilities include (internal and external) but not limited to: answering phone calls researching problems special requests. Approving vendor invoices as needed. Assist coworkers and other departments as requested. Consistently follow all safety procedures. Prepare and provide corrections. Other duties as assigned. You have these skills: Judgment and decision making. Time management. Basic math. Ability to work in an open office environment. General office procedures. Experience with multi-line phone system. And these qualifications: One to two years of general office experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position. Minimum two years of transportation or freight experience. Extra credit if you have: Physical Requirements: Ability to independently move up to 20 pounds. Ability to do repetitive motions. Ability to use proper lifting techniques. Ability to sit at a desk and/or in front of a computer for an extended period of time; accommodations can be made as needed. Ability to work in a warehouse environment where exposure to the elements and exhaust fumes are likely is preferred. The hourly range for this position in Washington is $23.37 - $30.40. The hourly rate will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
