Qualifications:
• Associates degree or higher
• Licensed by the TN Board of Physical Therapy
• Valid TN driver's license
• Basic-intermediate computer skills
Job Overview: Under the direction of the Director of Special Populations, the Physical Therapy
Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services to students with disabilities, ages 3 to 21, in
order for them to benefit from their special education program.
Job Functions:
• Provide physical therapy services to students directly or through consultation to address and
support as student's ability to access their environment as related to IEP goals under the
supervision of a PT
• Work directly with the PT to coordinate services delivery
• Maintain daily records of therapy sessions and document progress
• Consult and collaborate with teachers and teams by suggesting ideas for classroom
interventions
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Populations
