Job Description:

Maven Torch is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic financial team in El Monte, CA. In this essential role, you will be at the heart of ensuring the financial integrity and enhancing the operational efficiency of our rapidly growing company. As a crucial member of our finance department, your responsibilities will span across managing daily financial transactions to engaging in strategic financial initiatives that support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Transaction Verification: Audit and verify all financial transactions and documents to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Record Keeping: Maintain financial historical records by methodically filing accounting documents, ensuring compliance and accessibility.
• Account Monitoring: Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Financial Closing Processes: Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to support financial reporting and compliance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare precise monthly financial and management reports, providing critical data to inform decision-making.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial reliability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support and enhance financial operations and organizational objectives.
• Budget Management: Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and conduct regular variance analyses to manage and report deviations.
• Expense Claims Processing: Process employee expense claims in accordance with company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Account and Bank Reconciliation: Maintain a chart of accounts and handle bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and preparedness for audits.
• Payroll Management: Utilize payroll software to streamline payroll processes and generate detailed reports for upper management and accounting purposes.
• Sick Leave and PTO Records: Maintain accurate records of sick leave and PTO taken by employees, ensuring that payroll deductions and sick pay are correctly administered.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2 years or more of accounting experience.
• Experience with QuickBook.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• CPA is a plus.

Experience Level:
