Job Title: API Platform Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 12months

Job Description;

• Develop and maintain tools and libraries for REST API creation and management using Java SpringBoot, Lua and Go. Experience with creation 

and deployment of CI/CD pipelines and stages.

• Create and maintain guides and best practices for REST API schema design, implementation and consumption.

• Establish and maintain processes for schema change control, breaking change detection, and error sanitization.

• Update and publish REST API schema and security standards, including application security configurations.

• Create and maintain systems for monitoring error rates, latency metrics, and field usage.

• Implement and manage a schema registry, ensuring seamless schema proposals, changes, and version control.

• Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define and prioritize features and improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Excellent programming skills with Java/Lua/Go. Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines and stages. Experience with building and maintaining 

REST APIs and Plugins

• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks.

• Proficiency with database technologies such as MySQL. Experience with writing SQL queries for data migration.

• Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to aid in debugging. Experience with Java build tools like Maven

• Proficiency with Git and experience managing code in a collaborative environment.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Proficiency with creating CI/CD pipelines and stages with Harness using YAML templates.

• Kong plugin development using Lua or Go. Experience with Package Managers like LuaRocks

• Experience with containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog and OpenTelemetry.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java, Lua, Go and infrastructure tools.
