MaxWell is Hiring a Senior Digital Marketing Manager Near Portland, OR

We’re looking for a senior digital marketing manager passionate about the power of digital and content marketing to strengthen brands, build community and drive sales.

Maxwell is a woman-owned, integrated marketing agency serving national consumer brands in food & beverage, wellness, outdoor, hospitality and tourism. Among its clients include Bob’s Red Mill, Dave’s Killer Bread, Mountain House and McMenamins. It’s tight-knit, collaborative team works with marketing leaders ready to think big, embrace new opportunities and make game-changing shifts. Based in Portland, Ore., the 24-year-old company offers a flexible, hybrid work model. Its home base is a renovated art gallery complete with fully functioning test kitchen and content production studio.

What You Will Do

General

  • Be the Digital Marketing Expert for the greater Maxwell Marketing Team, our clients and potential clients
  • Manage and oversee social media, aligning on strategy and ensure that campaigns are timely, brand safe, efficient and meeting (exceeding) KPI benchmarks
  • Manage content creators for both paid and organic channels
  • Identify new digital marketing opportunities that align with client goals and Maxwell Marketing capabilities growth (i.e. shopper marketing management, programmatic advertising, SEM)
  • Confidently contribute creative ideas that consider the whole consumer journey and generate results
  • Drive campaign development and implementation within timelines and budgets
  • Explore new ways to engage with consumers and identify new social networks, content strategies, or mechanisms to reach and engage relevant target audiences

Social Media

  • Contribute to on-going social media strategy organic and paid, recommend channel priorities, spend, targeting, and creative strategies in support of client objectives
  • Oversee paid social media tactics and performance – with help from the Paid Social Specialist
  • Review paid social media performance monthly with manager to identify anomalies, trends, wins, loses, and overall paid performance
  • Oversee paid strategy for agency content

Email

  • Report on performance by list segment monthly (AI, Demo, Full List)
  • Be the MailChimp expert
  • Develop a test and learn approach to content and email layout with the Director of Strategy and implement
  • Manage lists – growth and cleaning

Reporting/Analysis

  • Formalize external reporting to ensure pulling reports is fast, efficient and that all reporting is accurate
  • Work with Community Manager to formalize reporting in Sprout Social and that the editorial process is efficient with clear feedback to the creative teams
  • Analyze metrics across multiple channels in support of digital campaigns - monthly and report to Director of Strategy
  • Collaborate with Accounts Team to understand client reporting needs and communicate to direct reports
  • Lead integrated analysis and reporting
  • Track and report on social community performance with an eye on optimization

Bring Your Experience

  • 8 years of relevant work experience in digital and content marketing with strategic knowledge of paid social
  • Customer service experience, comfortable fielding client requests and responds in a timely manner
  • Expertise in paid social planning, social ads managers and Google Adwords
  • Competence with social platform insights, Google Analytics and other analytics platforms
  • Experience integrating partner vendors (couponing, webinars, social monitoring providers, etc.)
  • Experience with e-commerce, display PPC and developing new digital channels
  • Experience executing and presenting consumer and competitor research
  • Working understanding of SEO / SEM best practices
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and best practices
  • Working knowledge of backend website – WordPress, Shopify, etc. a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, advertising, journalism, digital media or related field with course work in marketing analysis and statistics preferred
