Supply Chain/Inventory Planning Manager

We are seeking a NEW team member for our Operations Team!

General description of position:

About the Role:

Ecommerce channels are a fast-growing segment of our company. As Maxwood has grown, our product portfolio has become more complex. Inventory management is a critical part of our business - ensuring the right products are available at the right times in the right quantities can make the difference between success and failure.

This role is a new position in our company.

The Supply Chain/Inventory Planning Manager is a key member of the Maxwood Operations Team. Responsibilities include ensuring future demand is forecasted accurately and key trends are spotted early, so they can be translated into demand signals for production. The successful candidate will be working with our production and forecasting tools to ensure orders are placed on time and in full and help to evaluate new tools that can make this process better and less manual. This is a highly collaborative position – keeping our fingers on the pulse of this highly dynamic category is a team sport.

We are looking for an individual who is highly detail oriented and exceptionally organized. Excellent analytical skills, familiarity with supply chain systems and processes and the ability to work in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment are very important.

What You Will Do:

  • Formalize demand forecasting process and continuously monitor forecast changes. Assess the impact of forecast changes to the overall demand and production plan.
  • Perform modeling and analysis of supply chain and existing operations to ensure sufficient capacity is available for growth.
  • Assist in refining the existing master production schedule to meet Maxwood’s demand plan.
  • Establish systems and processes for the overall supply chain execution in planning, inventory control, and shipment monitoring.
  • Develop and implement supplier and product strategies in collaboration with new product development team. Make recommendations for sourcing to achieve cost and lead-time objectives and ensure supply capacity is in place to support growth.
  • Assist in placing 3rd party purchase orders to replenish and maintain satisfactory in-stock positions across all our product lines.
  • Establish cost reduction processes; identify cost reduction, cost analysis and other best practice approaches to drive cost reduction.
  • Drive process improvements by implementing documented procedures where required.
  • Any other supply chain management or related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in supply chain or Business-related majors.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in planning, purchasing, logistics, or manufacturing of high-volume products.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project management software and relevant supply chain related software.
  • Experience in supply chain functions of planning, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Experience with planning software such as Netstock, Stock IQ or Netsuite is a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical ability. Experience with Inventory Management Systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to win in a highly team focused work environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with changing priorities.
