Job Description: Radiology Technologist
Job Overview:
The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment at theSurgery Center. The ideal candidate will possessa thorough understanding of radiographic procedures, patient care, and radiation safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Radiologic Examinations:-Conduct X-rays and other imaging procedures as prescribed by physicians.-Ensure the highest quality images are obtained for accurate diagnosis.-Use radiographic equipment to produce radiographs (X-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Patient Care:-Prepare and position patients for radiographic exams.-Provide clear instructions to patients to ensure accurate imaging results.-Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
-Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.Perform regular quality control checks and report any equipment malfunctions.-Assist in the management of radiology supplies and inventory.
Safety and Compliance:
-Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.-Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.-Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
Collaboration and Communication:
-Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.-Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.-Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:-Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology.-Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).-State licensure as required.
Experience:
-Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, preferably in a pain management or surgical setting.
