Responsibilities

Prepare and file ancillary state and local revenue tax returns such as excise tax, franchise tax, annual information reports, sales and use tax, gross income tax, and net profit tax
Assist in renewing business licenses: Prepare and submit renewal or provide financial information to parties responsible for renewing.
Effectively coordinate payments for various taxes due – ACH or check
Research various tax topics
Respond to notices received from various states or local tax authorities
Preparation and filing of Forms 1099
Assists at CPA Firm during busy season – Provide financial information as requested, help coordinate timely tax payments, and file paper tax returns as required

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (CPA not required)
General understanding of Forms 1099
Basic knowledge of business tax returns, prominently partnership and S-Corporations
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word
Strong research skills
Basic understanding of financial statements
