Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging recreational activities for residents in our senior care facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly and creating meaningful experiences to enhance their quality of life.
Duties
- Plan and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents
- Assist in organizing events, outings, and social gatherings within the facility
- Collaborate with the activities director to develop engaging programs for memory care and dementia residents
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback
- Support residents in participating in scheduled activities and provide individualized attention as needed
Requirements
- Experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or assisted living setting is preferred
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and techniques
- Strong organizational skills for effective schedule management
- Ability to plan and execute events that cater to diverse resident needs and preferences
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in senior care
- Certification or coursework in activities coordination is a plus
