Our client, an Oakland litigation boutique, is seeking a 2-4 year associate to join their dynamic and growing team.

This is an egalitarian firm where associates take ownership of cases - draft dispositive motions, interface with clients, take depositions, lead settlement negotiations, and deliver oral arguments.

The best personality fit is collegial, down-to-earth. They hire associates with good judgement who they can eventually see as partners.

What the firm offers:

  • Working alongside mazing talent -former federal prosecutors, public defenders, law professors, biglaw partners and associates, and in-house counsel.
  • Interesting and meaningful work – the firm represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil and criminal cases that run the gamut from large technology companies to individuals in matters ranging from nationwide class actions to trade secret cases, to consumer arbitrations. They stay away from rote case work and look for interesting cases to creatively litigation.
  • Ambition and career growth is supported – seeking those who will play a crucial role in building the firm.
  • Work/life balance and firm support - 1600-1800 annual billable hours. Staff are encouraged to attend to life outside of work and pro-bono activities are also supported.

Salary:

  • 200,000 - 265,000, depending on experience annual bonus.

Requirements:

  • JD and current licensed member of CA state bar
  • 2-6 years of litigation experience that includes the courtroom and taking depositions
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ambition to grow your career and be a part of a growing team

  • Clerkship experience
  • Public defender experience
