McAlister-Smith Funeral Homes is Hiring a Funeral Home Administrator Near Mount Pleasant, SC

Our company is looking for a Administrator to join our team. The position of Location Administrator is a key administrative support role within McAlister-Smith and is critical to deliver quality service to each family served. The primary role of the Administrative Assistant is to partner with the Funeral Director in planning and executing funerals in such a manner that we exceed the expectations of the families we serve. Equally important is the utilization of specific record keeping and communication tools, accurately and efficiently, to ensure that information is shared, both within the company and with partner organizations, in a timely manner.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work the assigned location schedule of Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, other times as assigned and needed.
  • Greets visitors, as certains nature of business and escorts visitors to appropriate person.
  • Answers telephones, gives information to callers or routes call to appropriate person, and places outgoing calls.
  • Schedules and updates all chapel appointments, events and staff schedules utilizing Google Calendar.
  • Initiates data entry of client records in The Director's Assistant (TDA) funeral software and is responsible for inputting all information associated with the case.
  • Performs accurate data entry and maintenance of Community Connections contacts.
  • Prepares the Arrangement Room for meeting with families.
  • May be asked to sit with Funeral Director during the Arrangement Conference to assist with computer data entry.
  • Works with the Funeral Director, following the Arrangement Conference, to identify and list all the Action Items for the funeral or service.
  • Promptly and accurately completes the designated Action Items, such as, writing and submitting obituaries; preparing and printing register books, service folders and related items; preparing Tribute DVD slideshows and ordering police escorts, to name a few.
  • May be asked to assist the Funeral Staff in setting up the visitation rooms/chapel for services in accordance to the denomination and Funeral Director instructions, including the placement and arrangement of flowers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
