Position SummaryWe are looking for a Potato Storage Co-op / Intern to join us for five months. We are seeking for this individual to start in January 2025 and continue through May.

It will require monthly evaluations of the varietal response to sprouting level, fry colors, sugars, and disease. Additional projects that will need attention may surface during the co-op/internship.
The TeamThis position will work with various team members across McCain, as each region has a horizontal team to work with and learn from. It will also work closely with the three members of the storage team: one global, one located in Wisconsin, and the Storage Agronomy Manager for North America, who directly manages this position. This role will also gain experience working with the vendor for our chemical team.
What You Will Be Working On
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in potato storage, agricultural and manufacturing
  • To carry out a literature review to evaluate all biological and organic post-harvest sprout inhibitors that are registered in Canada and the United States
  • To visit the two Idaho locations of the Field Office and the variety trial to conduct a monthly sprout, disease, and fry color evaluation of each treatment

  • Be an effective, collaborative team member.
What You Can Expect From Us
  • A supportive team that will encourage you to be and do your best.
  • A safe and flexible working environment that promotes work/life balance.
