Position Title : Maintenance Planner

Position Type : Regular - Full-Time

Position Location : Plover Appetizer

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Performs all assignments in accordance with established food safety and quality policies;

including all USDA, FDA, WDA and SQF Guidelines.

  • Plan, organize and schedule all maintenance ac vi es.
  • Major emphasis on weekly, monthly, and yearly planning for the department.
  • Schedules maintenance programs and processes for the entire facility that will minimize operational down me.
  • Evaluates the needs for replacements parts, spare parts and places orders to procure such materials.
  • Has very strong computers skills and can create planning tools as required and beneficial to the opera on.
  • Works with the entire maintenance team but reports only to the Maintenance Supervisor and or to VP Engineering.
  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work order, identification on of scope, material and any special tools required
  • Conducts field walk around to understand task requirements
  • Assures that safety procedures, including lock-out / tag out procedures, are available to employees and contractors
  • Plans jobs working with Maintenance Management Team
  • Plans jobs and gains customer buy-in from participating departments : QA, R&D, Operations, etc.
  • Plans jobs to increase wrench me and maximize efficiency
  • Coordinates a maintenance work order log, establishes priori es by coordinating and getting input from requestors and operations personal Writes clear and concise work orders
  • Maintains a working schedule for the Maintenance Supervisor to include on days, off days, non-opera ng days, to maximize machinery availability with available man hours
  • Determines appropriate level of parts inventory, establishing appropriate reorder points, and lead times Gathers necessary documenta on before jobs begin, manuals, drawings;

has appropriate technical support available by phone if required

Assembles and maintains proper equipment files (e.g. by line, by supplier, by equipment type)

COMPETENCIES / QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / DEVELOPMENT :

Gain efficiency in written and verbal communication skills

Gain efficiency in leadership and organizational skills

Gain efficiency and trust while coordinating the work with other internal departments

Gain expertise in local building codes, electrical codes, OSHA

Build external resources to support the opera on

Expand personal knowledge that will support the business (e.g. writing skills, computer skills, speaking skills, problem solving skills)

Develop skills that will allow for criticism to be taken in a constructive manner

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ADA STATEMENT :

Stand for long periods of me. Walk on occasions around the plant and facility, up and down stairs, and able to wear protective equipment.

Able to li up to 50 lbs, and on occasions, more.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

None

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK :

Full-Time, 40 hours per week

First shift hours : Approx. 7 : 00 a.m. 4 : 00 p.m.
