McCarthy's Renewable Energy Business Unit is looking for a Project Assistant Manager to manage large utility-grade renewable energy projects throughout the United States. This is a great opportunity to assist both developers and power companies on some of the largest and most unique renewable energy jobs in the country with excellent opportunity for future growth within McCarthy. This is a full-time, office-based position that requires minimal travel to sites across the continental U.S. The successful candidate will be responsible for SCADA project management during early phases of SCADA scope execution. Responsibilities include representing the SCADA operations team during preconstruction, procurement, and design. Completion of these functions requires technical competencies as well as leadership competencies in working with various departments to ensure that the necessary coordination takes place early on for successful SCADA system design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities:Preconstruction support: Support the preconstruction team during SCADA scope specification development to confirm that the proposed SCADA solution meets the requirements detailed in the scope of work document. Coordinate with all parties involved to ensure that lessons learned from the operations team get captured in the SCADA contract and relevant scope documents. Analyze other scopes to identify possible scope gaps. Procurement support: Coordination with the SCADA procurement team to make sure that the proposed Bill of Material is in line with the scope of work documents and specifications. Cross reference project milestone dates and equipment lead times to ensure equipment delivery is aligned with the project schedule. Design support: Main SCADA operations point of contact for the design management team. Coordinate with the design management and SCADA operations team to ensure that all SCADA related design documents are reviewed by the operations team before final revision. Represent SCADA ops team during the review of early design phases. SCADA operations support: Setup project tracker sheet based on the agreed scope of work and design documents. Capture unique scope items that need to be tracked during construction and communicate it to the SCADA ops project management team. Improve processes and look for ways to streamline and find efficiencies in the SCADA scope from beginning to end. Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required
3-7 years construction experience with solar/ energy projects
Advanced knowledge of construction principles/ practices required
Experience in managing people, vendors as well as building relationships with owners
Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment
Demonstrated track record of job-site safety excellence
