Oertel Metalworks is currently seeking a first-shift Industrial Worker – Plasma / Laser Operator based out of Davenport, Iowa.

The Industrial Worker is responsible for assisting the apprentices or journeymen with various steps in the fabrication process and helping to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the shop. This position includes operating a fork truck, material handling, setting up or operating various equipment, performing in-process inspections, reading and understanding blueprints, operating various hand power and pneumatic tools such as grinders and cut-off wheels. Additionally, assisting with shipping/receiving, assembly, painting, as well as other shop tasks may be required when necessary. Previous experience working in a shop environment and operating a plasma or laser table is preferred.

What makes you successful in this position:

• A current, valid drivers license
• Experience in welding, fabrication, assembly, or CNC machining
• Previous work experience working with your hands and physical labor
• Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and think of yourself as mechanically inclined

This position works Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm each day, with the option for overtime. You will be trained on first shift. Base pay starts at $21.19/hour.
