This position can be based anywhere. Preference is Houston, Austin, Dallas or Durham.
What you will do
Our Business Process Outsourcing team supports our external clients with various Accounting and Finance functions. The successful Senior Consultant - Lease Accounting & SEC Disclosures will be a polished and technically competent accounting professional, assigned to one of our marquee Big Tech clients. This person will have a strong process improvement mindset as they focus on assessing leases, waterfall calculations, and SEC disclosures. This role will investigate, document, and implement changes in cost center allocation methodologies to comply with GAAP requirements.
As the Senior Consultant - Lease Accounting & SEC Disclosures, you will:

• Research and resolve accounting issues, demonstrating your understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting and FY23 SAB99.
• Analyze existing operational processes for lease assessment, waterfall calculations, manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and SEC disclosures.
• Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for enhancement.
• Cross-functional collaboration, with accounting, finance, business teams and the corporate lease teams to implement process improvements and drive efficient solutions.
• Make recommendations on how best to integrate workflow into an existing vendor arrangement to manage leases at scale.
• Create clear and comprehensive process documentation for the end-to-end lease process with controls.
• Articulate accounting and operational issues effectively to various stakeholders in a timely manner.
• As part of our compliance program, all team members are required to follow industry leading data and system security practices.

Qualifications
What you will need

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent field required.
• CPA, and/or master's degree.
• 6 years of accounting and/or audit experience, including 2 years working for a publicly traded company.
• Experience with SAP and the manual journal entry process to support the month-end close tasks.
• Experience and success in a hyper growth environment, where flexibility and a keenness for optimization are key.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter and motivated by the opportunity to build new processes and evolve existing ones for a complex and rapidly growing environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides)

What we prefer

• Consulting, professional services or Business Process Outsourcing experience.
• ASC 842 Lease Accounting experience
• Experience developing and reviewing SEC disclosures related to Lease Accounting
• Experience preparing waterfall calculations.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, VBA, Pivot Tables.
