McCorvey Companies is one of the largest commercial HVAC sheet metal, piping and plumbing companies in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Orlando, Raleigh, Charlotte, and Nashville. We specialize in commercial air conditioning, plumbing, piping, and the maintenance of these systems. We are seeking an experienced Multi-State Tax Specialist to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting research on tax regulations, providing strategic tax planning advice, and managing audits.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather information needed for multi-state sales tax compliance.
• Timely and accurate preparation of local and state sales taxes.
• Prepare and review sales tax returns across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws.
• Assist in gathering documentation and preparing responses for state and local sales tax audits.
• Manage and maintain records of sales tax filings, payments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
• Support the team in developing and implementing tax-saving strategies.
• Identify opportunities for sales tax credits, incentives, and deductions to minimize tax liabilities.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in multi-state sales taxes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong interest in multi-state and local sales tax compliance and planning.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and sales tax laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
