MJ is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineer to join our widely respected and diverse Aviation Division in our Raleigh, NC office location.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, developing airfield project plans, grading and drainage design, pavement design, utilities, stormwater design, quantities, specifications, and contract documents for airport improvement projects at general aviation and commercial service airports throughout the East Coast. The Aviation Civil Engineer will work under close supervision; receive specific detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected. Will also be responsible for performing seasonal construction observation at general aviation and commercial service airports and track and monitor construction progress usings standard forms. This position will require occasional travel.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Engineering Intern (EI) Certification required or can be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Certification preferred.
• 4 years of prior civil design experience in progressive civil engineering design. Aviation experience preferred.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D design/drafting experience required.
• Familiarity with FAA/AIP funding for airport planning and development preferred.
• FAA/DOT design requirements, specifications, and understanding of airport operations preferred.
