Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk/Assistant is responsible for performing various financial and administrative tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including classifying, verifying, recording, and computing payables.
- Assist with accounts payable and serve as a back-up to the accounts payable specialist.
- Support the accounts receivable clerk as needed.
Key Tasks:
- Prepare accounts payable transactions.
- Enter vendor information into accounting software.
- Ensure accurate invoice information entry.
- Process vendor invoices and posting in a timely manner.
- Conduct cash handling and reconciliation as required.
- Verify accuracy of transaction and receivables entry into accounting software.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Administrative Support:
- Back up receptionist duties, including greeting visitors at the front desk and answering incoming phone lines.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with accounting software, preferably Epicor; MS Office proficiency required.
- Prior experience with spreadsheets and database software, strong data entry accuracy essential.
- Competent math skills and proven aptitude.
- Prior cash handling experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices.
- Professional attitude with ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to match data from various sources for accuracy and completeness.
Safety Requirements:
The team member must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear in an office environment. They must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
