What You Will Do
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting.
  • Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care.
  • Meet the communication needs of patients and family members.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with providers and staff about patient’s clinical conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as needed and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients, and the general patient population.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes proper pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family about pain management.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that perfects patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status to find each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
  • Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.
  • Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
  • Medical and surgical asepsis is conducted during treatments and special procedures.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers, providers, and office/clinic manager.
  • Demonstrates the ability to help providers with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Interacts professionally with patient and family and involves patient and family in patient education.
  • Formulates a teaching plan based on found learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; includes family in teaching.
  • Demonstrates ability to revise plan of care as shown by the patient's response to treatment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure.
  • Meets current documentation standards and policies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of lab requirements, requisitions.
  • Maintains established office/clinic policies and procedures, goals, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families following office/clinic standards.
  • Answers telephone calls in a professional manner; refers patient problems to office/clinic provider; schedules patient appointments.
  • Ensures an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Helps in cost containment through proper ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with all staff members of the office/clinic.
  • Manages and runs equipment safely and correctly. Performs preventative maintenance.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
  • Response is proper to the patient in emergency or physically distressful situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the RN scope of practice.
What You Will Need
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) ND license.
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically able to lift and move patients as needed.
  • Experience working in a clinic or similar healthcare setting preferred.
