Position: Senior Construction Estimator

Your Role: As a Senior Construction Estimator, you'll be a vital part of our team, ensuring our projects are accurately estimated and competitively priced. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the preconstruction process and team, reviewing project documentation, and establishing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Presenting budgets and proposals, strategizing opportunity assignments, and creating project schedules.
  • Overseeing subcontractor proposals, resolving design conflicts, and leading project transfer meetings.
  • Developing new business opportunities, conducting employee evaluations, participating in business development, and training estimating staff.
  • Collecting key construction documents and analyzing blueprints to generate detailed scopes of work and estimates.
  • Collaborating with leadership to identify business development opportunities, build strategic initiatives, and recommend workflow process improvements.
  • Developing tailored lists of subcontractors and vendors, distributing plans and scope documents to secure competitive pricing, and communicating with them to obtain comprehensive bids within set timelines.
  • Consolidating all costs, including materials, production, and shipping, to determine the final proposed bid price for clients.
  • Maintaining thorough communication with customers regarding Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarifications.
  • Attending necessary handoff meetings upon bid acceptance to ensure efficient information transfer.
  • Reviewing vendor offers and quotes to identify the most advantageous options.
  • Cultivating relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
  • Managing paperwork for the submittal process, including reviewing architectural drawings, drafting shop drawings, resolving layout conflicts through the RFI process, coordinating appliances/equipment, and handling mockup samples.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • You have at least 5 years of project estimation experience with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
  • You are knowledgeable about general construction products, systems, services, and procedures.
  • You are a natural leader and enjoy inspiring and motivating others to perform at their best.
  • You have an appetite for learning and are keen on turning feedback into action and continuous self-improvement.
  • You are very organized and able to handle multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines.
  • You are committed to a high standard of integrity and work ethic, ensuring work is done correctly and at a top level of quality.
  • You have a great attitude about doing whatever it takes to get the job done, covering the details, supporting the team, and keeping everything running smoothly.
  • You take responsibility and accept ownership of your actions.
  • You are highly collaborative, always working to get results, and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
