Join McKesson Medical-Surgical's Laboratory team in Richmond, VA as a Director, Lab Business Development. This position is responsible for leading a team in identifying, cultivating, and expanding opportunities for long-term lab growth from various customers, markets, and partners.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain key partnerships and alliances with organizations such as suppliers and trade associations to leverage their expertise, infrastructure, and intellectual property.
• Collaborate cross-functionally in the development of the organization's business plan, strategy, and goals.
• Conduct competitive analysis, track industry trends, and maintain extensive knowledge of market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
• Implement strong data and analytics focus within the team to drive evidence-based decision making and optimize business development efforts.

• Leads the team in deriving insights and sales targets from various internal and external data sources, developing initiatives with Lab Sales Leaders to harvest value from this data.

• Provides routine updates to sales teams and the business on the Lab Reimbursement landscape and develops messages for partners to influence payors.

• Lead initiatives to maximize renewal, retention, and expansion in installed instrument base.

• Partner with lab senior leaders on forecast and collaborate with Finance teams to improve reagent forecasting.

• Achieve business objectives through team. Drive performance and development activities including but not limited to leading through change, performance management of your team, self-directed continuing education and training to increase competency levels.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Required Education/Training –

• Degree or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.

Required Business Experience –

• 12 years of professional experience and 4 years of management experience.

Required Specialized Knowledge/Skills –

• Strategic thinker with ability to understand complex business models, develop a course of action, and manage execution
• High degree of financial acumen and analytical capability; inquisitive
• Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
• Experience in healthcare industry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated success building collaborative relationships within a matrix environment

Preferred Specialized Knowledge/Skills –

• Familiarity with Clinical Laboratory testing
• Understanding of CLFS and Private Payors

• Traditional office environment.

Physical Requirements -

• Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
