The Position: We are looking for a Support Clinician, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The role of the Support Clinician focuses on the assessment of mental health treatment and prevention services to assigned clients and families who meet eligibility criteria. These individuals are experiencing behavioral and/or mental health issues in the school, home, and community settings. The Support Clinician completes the initial mental health assessment, client treatment plan, outcome measures and may provide continued treatment should the primary clinician be unavailable. The support clinician works collaboratively with the treating clinician to assure that services are rendered according to their needs and care plan.
Compensation And BenefitsThe starting pay we’re offering is $74,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications
  • Valid license or registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (ACSW, AMFT, LCSW, LMFT, APCC, LPCC)
  • 1-year prior mental health service and assessment experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience as a provider under the guidelines of the Los Angeles and/or Riverside County mental health departments
  • Word Processing; Excellent Writing Skills, General Office Skills; Typing of 50 WPM
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites on campus
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and lift 10 pounds

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial intake assessments and screenings for new referrals for the Mental Health Program in Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, and Riverside County.
  • Complete Mental Health Intakes for Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP)
  • Develop individual treatment service plans for clients.
  • Complete outcome measures for all new clients.
  • Carry a small caseload of anywhere between 5-8 clients
  • Provide mental health services in the home, school, community and/or via telehealth.
  • Consult with an interdisciplinary team for initial assessments and treatment needs.
  • Plan, implement and provide mental health services to clients and their families until the client is linked to their assigned mental health provider.
  • Believe that people can change; demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served.
  • Establish close contact with school personnel and referring parties to effectively assess ongoing treatment needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assessment as requested.
  • Cover caseloads within all Mental Health Programs (as needed)
  • Remain on-call for clinical emergencies.
  • Maintain all required documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Attend all required supervision, department and agency meetings.
  • Take responsibility for the on-going development of professional skills.
  • Attend all required agency training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
