Teamwork is at the heart of McKinnon's Market and Super Butcher Shop, and you will lead a team with your creativity, passion for the product, and quality driven leadership style. The Deli Manager reports to the Store Manager and is guided by the Regional Directors. In conjunction with the Store Manager you will be responsible for hiring, development, terminations and generally holding your team accountable for their work. The Deli Manager is responsible for profitability, expense control (packaging and labor), inventory control, buying and merchandising, regulatory compliance and special projects as assigned. Complete accountability for all aspects of team operations and perform all duties and responsibilities of Associates' positions. We are looking for individuals who lead, not manage, work teams. You will be encouraged to run the Deli as if it was your own business (within certain guidelines of course).
DUTIES
Duties/Requirements:
1.Demonstrated two or more years of experience directing a team of five or more people.
2. Instruct and train new and existing Deli Department Associates.
3.Strong knowledge of general Bakery procedures and baking practices.
4.Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
5.Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
6.Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds unassisted.
7.Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.
8.Effectively communicate with other Associates and leadership.
9.Thorough knowledge of all relevant McKinnon's Market and Super Butcher Shop policies and standards.
10.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11.Strong organizational skills.
12.Previous experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Department Manager or equivalent
13.Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings.
14.Ensure that all policies and procedures specific to the department are being followed and executed properly.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have 2 years relevant experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Department Manager, or industry equivalent
2. Support of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager
3. Work harmoniously with all Associates and Department Managers
4. Capable of hiring and terminating Associates
5. Thorough knowledge of bakery products, labor and register systems
6. Excellent verbal and written communication
7. Strong organizational skills
8. Knowledge of all relevant McKinnon's Market and Super Butcher Shop policies and standards
9.Work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
10.Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
11. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
12.Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 60 pounds unassisted.
13.Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.
14.Effectively communicate with Associates and management.
15.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
16.Strong organizational skills.
17.Previous experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Department Manager, or equivalent
18.Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings.
19.Ensure that all policies and procedures specific to the team are being followed and executed properly.
