Position Summary: Responsible for the overall management of assigned department including quality, patient satisfaction, people management, annual business planning (including budgeting, staffing, marketing and new business development), facilitation of physician integration, operational efficiencies and coordination of interactions with other clinical service areas in accordance with established policies and standards. Ensures that all Radiology Services operations are functional and provide patient care in the most appropriate, efficient and effective manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates imaging services activities to insure that services are provided on schedule with quality and cost objectives.
Improves quality, ensuring that Imaging delivers the right test to the right patient at the right time.
Develops and implements strategic plans for all aspects of imaging operations including budgets and process improvement activities. Meets market goals by achieving budgeted volume targets.
Ensures that all imaging services and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws.
Hires, orients, evaluates, and rewards/disciplines leadership for the Imaging department. Oversees all human resource activities within the department. Maintains high staff engagement.
Develops and trains department personnel and reviews and appraises their performance in partnership with department leaders.
Establishes a department organization plan and delegates responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities to appropriate subordinates.
Creates and evaluates new procedures and equipment for potential use in imaging services and recommends new procedures and equipment where necessary.
Directs, coordinates and oversees major unit projects to the best economic advantage of the corporation.
Recommends and secures approval of major capital expense items initiating bidding process with vendors and upon approval, warding bids
