Position Summary
Responsible for the department’s quality improvement program and participates in performance improvement activities, evaluation and planning of departmental / unit activities, orientation program in respective units, and all patient related clinical activities in area of jurisdiction at all times.
Assures compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Uses independent judgment to exercise authority on behalf of the Medical Center, or effectively recommend such action in the following areas : May request, interview, and make hiring decisions in regard to personnel for this areaMay discipline subordinates according to Medical Center procedureResponsible for assigning work to employees and directing the workflow in area of jurisdictionAttempts to resolve customer complaints / concerns (internal & external)Conducts annual performance appraisal interviews with subordinates;
May, with Administrative approval, recommend and grant employee advancements / wage in creases
