What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Staff position at McLean Animal Hospital?
McLean Animal Hospital is a busy ten doctor AAHA certified, small animal hospital that offers medical and short stay boarding for of clients in McLean, Va. We are seeking full time team member's to work morning and evening shifts. The morning shift is Monday - Friday 630am to 230pm and every other Saturday and Sunday 630am to 230pm. The evening shift is Monday - Friday 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm and every other Saturday and Sunday 12:30 pm 8:30 pm. When working a weekend you have a day off during the week. Great opportunity for college students.
Team members are required to work every other Saturday and Sunday and holidays.
Pay: $12.00 to $14 per hour depending on experience
The candidate we are seeking must be trustworthy, compassionate, energetic, reliable, animal friendly team members to join our team. Our clients dogs and cats will be in your care when they are boarding with us. Must live within a 30 mile radius of the hospital.
Job requirements: Highschool diploma and 18 years of age, preferably 1 year of professional animal care experience
Duties include but not limited to:
1. Walking dogs.
2. Cleaning cages and runs.
3. Feeding dogs and cats by being able to follow specific instructions.
4. Washing pet food bowls and litter pans.
5. Cleaning yard of feces.
6. Vacuuming and moping of hospital.
7. Laundry.
8. Trash & recyclable collection in hospital.
9. Baths, nail trims and brush outs.
10. General upkeep of the hospital.
