Summary:

The Winery Weighmaster is responsible for accurately weighing and recording grape deliveries during the harvest season. This role ensures the integrity of weight measurements, maintains detailed records, and supports the winemaking process by coordinating with vineyard crews and winery staff. This position is for the Harvest Season only (End of July/Beginning of August-September), and is for the night shift only.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Weighing Operations:**

- Operate weighbridge and scales to measure the weight of incoming grape loads and or wine/juice loads.

- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.

- **Documentation and Record-Keeping:**

- Accurately record weights and other relevant data in logs or digital systems.

- Maintain detailed records of grape varieties, vineyard sources, and delivery times.

- Provide weigh tickets to truck drivers and maintain copies for winery records.

- **Communication and Coordination:**

- Communicate with vineyard managers, truck drivers, and winery staff to coordinate grape deliveries.

- Report any discrepancies or issues with deliveries to supervisors promptly.

- **Compliance and Safety:**

- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding weights and measures.

- **Education and Experience:**

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in a similar role within the wine industry or agriculture is preferred.

- Bi-Lingual is preferred. Spanish/English

- **Skills and Abilities:**

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in weight measurements.

- Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Excel) and ability to learn winery-specific software.

- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with various stakeholders.

- Ability to work night hours during the harvest season, including weekends.

- **Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to sit for extended periods.

- Capability to lift and move objects up to [weight limit], as necessary.

- **Working Conditions:**

- Primarily indoor work environment.

- Fast-paced and physically demanding during peak harvest times.
