McMillen continues to diversify revenue and is seeing record growth after 43 years! 
Besides direct health education programming for classrooms, we also create curricula, video content, and other media for use by partner organizations. Therefore, McMillen Health is seeking a professional who is creative and energetic to become our next Part-Time Educational Resource Trainer for the Educational Development Department. This position will be directly responsible for teaching various health related 2-hour trainings and facilitated discussions to adults in-person and virtually using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and/or Google Meets. The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Community/Public Health, Health Promotion, or a related field and will have 2 years of teaching experience. 
This position will require travel throughout Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio with a McMillen Health vehicle. Some overnight trips for early morning or later afternoon training sessions will be required. Travel is 20-30% of this position. A valid driver's license is required.
Job Summary:
The Educational Resource Trainer will be responsible for delivering fun, interactive, and engaging 2-hour training sessions and facilitated discussions on McMillen Health’s custom oral health, smoking cessation, and mental health resources to diverse audiences, including early childhood educators, healthcare professionals, Medicaid serving organizations including Head Start, WIC, and community members. This role involves facilitating interactive and fun training sessions, assessing learning outcomes, and providing feedback to enhance participant understanding of essential health topics.
This is a full time, 12-month hourly position and reports directly to the Director of Educational Resource Development. 
***Please note, this position works with our Custom Resources, not our K-12 Preventive Health Education Programs. 
 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct 2-hour training sessions and facilitated discussions on McMillen Health’s custom curriculum and resources, which currently includes oral health, smoking cessation, and mental health. 
  • Utilize interactive teaching methods to engage participants and promote active learning.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback and evaluation metrics.
  • Collaborate with curriculum developers to ensure training materials are up-to-date and effective.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to participants post-training to reinforce learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant attendance, and feedback.
  • Stay informed about current health education trends and best practices to enhance training delivery.
  • Assist with new educational curricula and resources development via Monday.com.
  • Utilize McMillen Health’s database software to track program statistics and provide monthly reports. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Operations and Sustainability and CEO.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Community/Public Health, Health Promotion, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in training, teaching, or public speaking, preferably in a health-related context.
  • Strong understanding of health education principles and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in using multimedia tools and technology for training presentations.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training sessions effectively.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability to different learning styles.

What We Offer:
Please note, McMillen Health does not offer health insurance. The potential candidate would be responsible for securing health insurance. 
Compensation Package includes:
· Hourly: $20-$23/hr.
· Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual rate of .0385 with ability to earn 10 days of PTO in years 1-3. May roll over ½ to the next fiscal year
· 3% Retirement Match into 403(b) Plan after 1 year of service
· Paid Parental Leave after 1 year of service
· Twenty-four (24) days of paid holidays per year
· FREE Telemedicine and Virtual Mental Health Services through Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) called First Stop Health
